KMFDM lyrics: New American Century
| New American Century |
| Count your blessings Walk the line Don’t move too fast Or fall behind There are rules you must obey They get re-written by the day Don’t do this – don’t say that Your every move is logged and tracked By the all oppressive eye Spy satellites in friendly skies The new american century Fight the power No one dares to say a word The world is watching in disbelief You can’t be bothered or concerned Those who cannot learn from history

Thai fortune….
Mrs TGR and I went to our fav local Thai restaurant last night, Cool Basil, and enjoyed their always delicious food and excellent service. They started passing out Thai fortune rolls with the bill for our food and mine read as follows: The dark clouds will lift soon.
Cool!
I’m banking on this one.

changes – not always easy, but they are needed
Well, change is coming. In about 2 years, Mrs Revolution and I will be on our way to a new phase in our lives. I am going to grad school to follow my dreams. This will take us to a currently unknown new city, and to new adventures. Frankly, it’s pretty scary. But what’s more scary is staying in my hometown, working in a job I don’t like- and never taking a chance on my dreams.
A life of quiet desperation is no life at all.
Shanghai, Stockholm, Berlin, Tel-Aviv – where will I eventually end up? Who knows? (I won’t end up in any of those 4 cities- at least not initially, my schools that I am considering are all here in the US of A – it’s just fun to clandestinely quote KMFDM lyrics in my post. Who’s KMFDM? You might be asking. Google them. Find out. Listen.)
Tah tah for now-

No one ever thinks to look up……
Sitting in the hall after class, I decide to pop open the laptop and check email before leaving campus. I wonder “is there wireless connectivity in this area?” (yes-even my thoughts are excessively wordy-much like my blog postings….) The wireless doo-hickus in the laptop sniffs the air and pronounces the signal strength “excellent” in a very Monty Burns fashion.
A bit later, I’m looking all over the place for the wireless router that must be nearby, I see nothing. Not under my table, not in the potted plant next to me, not in the purse of the girl at the next table. (boy, was she ever pi$$ed I was pawing through her purse! Not to sound geeky, I told her I was looking for her undies-heh!). And then, I looked up. The happy blinky RouterTron 9000 was above me, blinking away happily like routers really enjoy doing.
No one ever looks up. It’s a great place to hide – almost better than hiding in plain site, which I excel at by the way……

Brotherhood gathering!
The 20th anniversary of the brotherhood is this weekend, and many events are planned. Won’t be able to get to all of them, but that’s how it goes. Hard to believe this started off 20 years ago. It won’t be long now until the AARP sponsors the next events like the 30 and 40 yr reunion

5yrs
….ago today thousands of people died from a terrorist attack. Today, thousands more are dead from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Do I feel safer? Do I feel vindicated? Do I feel this is the right thing for our people and our nation to be doing?
NO.
This culture of violence spawned by 9-11, and W’s spasm of violence is eating away at our nation, my nation, your nation. To stop the violence does not mean to cave to those who would do us evil, but to live into our values of life, liberty, and equality. To that end, we must pressure our government (or better yet *become* our government) and stop propping up the totalitarian arab that spawn terrorism: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Pakistan, etc.

tuesday and thursday=mushy brain days
The usual silliness goes on – work, the Bush regime, bad drivers, etc. But these two days are when my classes occur. Since I am an adult student, I actually give a KRAP about if I am paying attention and actually learning in class. My poli sci prof is ok-but has a bit of difficulty in actually getting to the point. Must resist urge to play Chapelles “Wrap it up” music when she is lecturing
Mi classe de espanol is taught about 60% in spanish. So, not only do I have to struggle to try to understand the spanish I am supposed to be learning out of the book, I have to focus, really hard, on everything the prof is saying when *he diagrams a sentence in spanish.*
“Donde esta el articulo directivo?”
Dios mio!
Hugs and pinches,
